This is a very special little girl and her mom.

Zoe had a birthday coming up and she asked her mom: "Instead of a bunch of present and stuff, can I do something special for the animals."

That simple question led to a project that netted nearly $200.00 in donations to Save The Animals Rescue Society.  Zoe asked all her friends and relatives to donate to STARS instead of buying her birthday presents.  What a wonderful, caring generous thing for a little girl to not just think of, but carry through to such success.

You see, the Phillips family adopted a dog from us back near the first of the year, and Jack has become such a great part of her life, that she wanted to help all the other kids experience true unconditional love like she gets from Jack.

When Zoe came looking for a friend back in January, she found Adam and decided he was her best choice for a companion.  They are now inseparable and Jack (his new name) can't wait for Zoe to get home from school.

Grandma, Grandpa, Dad &  Mom; great job raising this unselfish, caring little girl.

A very good friend of STARS and one of our favorite adopters for many years,  recently passed away.

Jack Ramsay has authored several books about Texas history and his wife of many years, Karin, has run a publishing company that was lucky enough to be able to publish his works, along with several other history buffs and writers that have chronicled the history of Texas.  She also publishes other authors that have history related works and always ensures that all the products from the Historical Resources Press are not only very well written, but accurate and convey a lesson or something to be learned.

She also published Jack's last collaboration entitled, “I Can Feel the Sunshine by One Suddenly Blind Patient, One Caregiver and One Little Dog."  It is a wonderful book about Jacks loss of sight and how Jack, Karin and their little dog, Chalena coped and adjusted to the loss.  It is enlightening, warm and a definite tribute to Jacks commitment to help others and impart his wealth of knowledge and experience to the next generation.

Jack fought long and hard, but after nearly a year and half of battling for his life, he passed away in the loving and caring company of Karin and his little dog Chalena.

We are going to miss his visits and wonderful stories of how Chalena has brightened his final years and the warm attachment he had to her.

God speed, Mr. Ramsay.   ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
